From Aglianico grapes grown on the near vertical hillsideside of the vulcanic mountain of Mount Vulture in on sun baked soil with vultures circling overhead. Charmingly rustic.
‘This puts me in mind of a pinot noir on steroids, with its complex perfumed aromas of cherries and plums, along with perfumed rose petals. Ripe flavours of stewed plums, hazelnuts and chocolate are nicely balanced with juicy acid and assertive, chalky tannins.
