The Babylonstoren Estate has one of South Africa’s finest gardens. It has a top class hotel, fine restaurants, livestock and at the higher atitudes, vineyards.
Unlike Chenin from places like Vouvray this has a rapier acidity typicalof the area. Deliciusly refreshing.
We are not great fans of South African wines in general but make an exception for this! If you are going to drink something from the colonies you want if to be distinctive rather than just a poor copy of it’s old world model. This delivers.
