Alain Brumont is internationally renowned for his vineyard holdings, producing some of the best wines that South West France has to offer. Located in the heart of Gascony he is regarded as the leading pioneer in establishing Madiran and Côtes de Gascogne wines where they are today.
He took over the reins at Château Bouscassé in 1979 and developed the vineyards and winemaking in line with his own philosophies.
He has sought out old, abandoned vineyards to rehabilitate and re-establish to realise the potential of each of the terroir. He has continually added these plots to the vineyard holdings of Vignobles Brumont.
Alain incorporates biodynamic agriculture, organic and sustainable farming with integrated pest management, to ensure the natural biodiversity and balanced soils are maintained. He advocates planting of rows with orientation to have full sun at 3pm and a continual process from budding to ensure bunch management and even flowering and ripening.
Alain Brumont first produced Tour Bouscassé in 2007 to exploit the specific character of the terroir which constitutes around a third of Château Bouscassé vineyards and which offers an elegant, forward style.
