From the Cantina Valpantena co-operative. The Amarone is made from grapes left to dry for 4 months prior to crushing. The wine is then aged in barriques for 18 months. The resulting wine is stunningly rich and perfumed.
When I tried the sample, I wanted to see what it was like at the end of the bottle but fell asleep; it may have been the richness of the wine or the 15% alcohol. Maybe I was just tired…
