Classified Grand Cru in 1885, the Château Branaire-Ducru is one of the big names of the Saint-Julien appellation, surrounded by illustrious neighbours such as Beychevelle (which it was originally a part of), Ducru-Beaucaillou and Gruaud Larose.
Their second wine, Duluc, is intended to be drunk younger than its ultra-refined big brother. Aromatic on the nose and palate with plenty of pepper, and blackberry fruit from the slightly higher Merlot content.
