Klinker Brick is run by Steve and Lori Felten, fifth generation grape growers in California’s famous Lodi region. They continue the tradition of cultivating “Old Vine” Zinfandel vineyards that their ancestors planted in the early 1900’s.
This is their flagship zinfandel, made from vineyard blocks up to 120 years old. Cooling Delta breezes and the associated fog allows Klinker Brick to retain above average acidity for the Lodi, which provides notes of dark cherry and spices, with barrel fermentation giving some additional structure and tannin.
The extremely low yields (well under a ton per acre) of century old vineyards bring notes of raspberry and cranberry, with a hint of black pepper. The result is a balanced, complex and delicious.
