Made in the same traditional method as Champagne, Crémant offers a great alternative to its pricer cousin.
Domaine Jean-Marie Penent is now run by daughter Anne-Sophie Penet and her Burgundian husband Frédéric Meurgey, as Jean-Marie spends his retirement hunting.
The second generation are certainly not slacking, however, as their wines are still widely recognised as amongst the best in the region. Their Crémant is predominantly Chardonnay, with a little Arbois which gives it a lovely regional touch. It is soft and rounded in the mouth, but maintains a refreshingly dry finish.
