Englishman Philip Cox and wife Elvira have managed to achieve wonderful things in Romania, bringing 700 hectares of decrepit vineyards back into use and turning them into immaculately tended sites the equal of anywhere else in the world.
This ‘glou gou’ natural organic red is a refreshing style, best served chilled. It’s made from whole bunches of organic Merlot, left to ferment totally naturally in the tank for three weeks. When ready, it’s bottled without filtration, finings or any added sulphur to preserve the natural flavour of perfectly ripe grapes.
