Having enjoyed global careers in banking and tech, Grant Westcott and Carolyn Hurst knew they weren’t the “retiring” kind.
Initially thinking they would grow grapes and sell them to other wineries, they planted twenty-eight acres of grapes and were on their way!
As time went on, however, they realized that they wanted to produce their own wine under their own Westcott Vineyards label. Winemaker Arthur Harder joined them to take their precious grapes and create their first vintage in 2012.
This single vineyard Cabernet Franc from the prestigious Butler’s Grant Vineyard embodies both poise and complexity, with a depth of character that will continue to evolve beautifully with age.
Expect a layered nose, offering aromas of raspberry, currant, fresh herbs, tobacco, and cedar, complemented by a subtle minerality and iodine note. The palate is seamless and balanced, with pitch-perfect acidity, fine tannins, and a medium-bodied structure. The finish is long and refined, making this wine approachable to drink now but equally suitable for further aging. Exceptional stuff!
